Recently, we have been experimenting with Silver to create our very own handmade jewelry. Learning on the go about the various techniques and possibilities… And we are super excited about what we have made and the many more explorations we can do! 🙂

My favourite has got to be this Leafy Pendant made from a real leaf! Loving the textures and glitter on it. See how the veins really show on the piece!

Our Tree Trunk, can you spot our stump, ladybug and caterpillar in the brooch piece?

When making this ring, I couldn’t decide whether to do a geometric ring or a textured one, so I decided to combine 2 into 1 ring. The ring became more versatile for wearing! It can be worn with the geometric side up, or the textured side up or have half geometric half textured up!

I’m still thinking whether to patina this ring, think it will highlight the twisty textures more with the patina.

Loving this final piece done, many different textures. Don’t you think it looks like a crown?

Do share with us what type of Silver Jewelry you would like us to make. We would love to hear and get ideas from you.

Here’s a Repost from craftcurate on Instagram which we saw recently. Don’t you find this to be true?

The reason why handmade products are priced higher than mass produced pieces, is because you are buying not only the item, you are buying the maker’s hours of experimentation with techniques and various materials. You are buying a piece of Heart. Handmade pieces are made with love and the makers ensure the pieces are made beautiful before deciding to sell them.

Our Love for All Things Handmade

Artz de Scrap believes in this very much, and hence our love for handmade jewelry. Our love for handmade jewelry is not just in the designing and making, it also extends to our love and appreciation for other people’s handmade items. We hope that more people will appreciate and support handmade, so that the maker can explore more and have more time to do something they love. 🙂

The students took turns to help to man the booth and assist with the payment. The whole event was using NETS Flashpay for the payment, hence the payment was cashless.

It was a refreshing experience for me, very different from other art markets, was glad to be able to work with the students through the preparation process and also on the actual event day. We are also happy that 10% of the proceeds will go to the needy students from Edgefield Secondary School.
